Diflos - ideal probiotic, necessary while you’re using antibiotics, stops all diarrhea.

Diflos - the product contains live, microencapsulated cultures of probiotic bacteria Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) in the form of oral drops. It is an innovative probiotic for newborns, infants, children and adults, which inhibits the occurrence of antibiotic associated diarrhea and those of unknown cause. Diflos also reduces the frequency of infections occurring in immunocompromised states.

The role of the probiotic

Probiotic contains cultures of bacteria that have a beneficial effect on the human body, help to maintain the microbiological balance of the digestive system by not allowing the advantage of pathogenic bacteria. They also support the immune system in proper functioning. One of the most commonly used probiotics are lactic acid bacteria, e.g. strains of the genus Lactobacillus, which naturally occur in human intestines.

Working of Diflos

Diflos in drops contains live cultures of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG bacteria can be administered together with the antibiotic because it does not reduce the sensitivity of pathogenic bacteria to antibiotic action. Diflos counteracts the side effects of taking an antibiotic, such as diarrhea and abdominal pain. This is confirmed by the European Association of Gastroenetrology, Hepatology and Nutrition in Pediatrics (ESPGHAN), which recommends the LGG strain in the prevention of diarrhea associated with antibiotic therapy, but also in diarrhea of unknown cause. The consumption of LGG present in Diflos may also reduse the occurence of infections, especially of the respiratory system.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG)

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG bacteria have been selected from human biological material in 1985, taking into account very detailed criteria, eg. resistance to gastric acid or high activity against unfavorable microorganisms. The set requirements were to help find an extremely effective and beneficial bacterial strain. After the isolation of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG, over 900 studies and publications have been released on the subject, hence it is one of the best known and tested probiotic strains in the world.

Microencapsulation

Microencapsulation technology is based on the surrounding of bacteria with a special shield that protects them against the dangerous and damaging effects of gastric juices, which are exposed to the intestines. As a consequence, at least 90% of bacteria enter the destination of the probiotic (intestine), which is why their action is more effective in comparison with lyophilized bacteria contained in many other products. For this reason, the effectiveness of 1 billion microencapsulated bacteria is the same as 5 billion freeze-dried bacteria. According to research, this technology allows not only to reduce the amount of bacteria in the product, but also to increase the safety of use and extend the shelf-life.

The safety of using Diflos

The strain of probiotic bacteria contained in Diflos Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG has the GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) status assigned by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). LGG is also recommended by the European Association of Gastroenetrology, Hepatology and Nutrition in Paediatrics. Diflos can be used by newborns, infants, children and adults, including pregnant women. The product does not contain: cow's milk protein, lactose, gluten and can be safely administered to people who do not tolerate these ingredients.
